Nickel Alloy 20, Carpenter® 20, Incoloy® 20
Alloy 20, also known as Carpenter® 20 and Incoloy® 20, is an austenitic nickel-iron-chromium alloy. This super alloy, which also includes copper and molybdenum, is popular in the production of gasoline, solvents, explosives, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and food and synthetic materials. Alloy 20 nickel tubing is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy developed to resist pitting and chloride ion corrosion and its copper content protects it from sulfuric acid.

Our weldrawn tube manufacturing process begins with cold rolled strip of metal, roll formed into tubular shape and seam welded without the use of any filler material. The as-welded tube is then reduced in size a number of times through various cold working techniques until reaching the exact size, tolerances, and temper our customers require.

Packaging
Straight lengths of ASTM B468 Alloy 20 Welded Tube can be individually sleeved in paper or plastic and/or packaged in our unique cardboard spacers to ensure no damage occurs during transit. Coiled weldrawn tubes are horizontally packed using paper or cardboard separators to prevent tube-to-tube contact. All tubing is packed in either wooden crates lined with wax craft paper, tri-wall clay-coated reinforced cases, or standard cardboard boxes. Plastic end caps that prevent foreign material from getting inside the tubes are also available upon request.
Shipment

Alloy 20 nickel pipe is made from a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of copper and molybdenum. Contains niobium for stabilization against sensitization resulting in intergranular corrosion. Has excellent resistance to general corrosion, pitting, and crevice corrosion in chemicals,containing chlorides and sulfuric, phosphoric, nitric acids.
Alloy 20 is a nickel–chromium–molybdenum stainless steel alloy developed for applications involving sulfuric acid. Its corrosion resistance also finds other uses in the chemical, food, pharmaceutical, power generation, and plastics industries. Alloy 20 resists pitting and chloride ion corrosion and its copper content protects it from sulfuric acid. Alloy 20 is not a stainless steel but a nickel alloy (ASTM). Alloy 20 is often chosen to solve stress corrosion cracking problems, which may occur with 316L stainless.
