Our weldrawn tube manufacturing process begins with cold rolled strip of metal, roll formed into tubular shape and seam welded without the use of any filler material. The as-welded tube is then reduced in size a number of times through various cold working techniques until reaching the exact size, tolerances, and temper our customers require.

Our seamless and welded drawn tubes range in size from under 0.010” (1/4 mm) right up to 1.5” (38.1mm) outside diameter, and we can produce finished wall thicknesses down to less than 0.002” (0.05 mm) through to 0.150” (3.8mm).

You can order straight lengths of tubing from us up to 45ft (14m) long or coiled tubes up to 3,200ft (975m) in length.

Packaging

Straight lengths of weldrawn tubing can be individually sleeved in paper or plastic and/or packaged in our unique cardboard spacers to ensure no damage occurs during transit. Coiled weldrawn tubes are horizontally packed using paper or cardboard separators to prevent tube-to-tube contact. All tubing is packed in either wooden crates lined with wax craft paper, tri-wall clay-coated reinforced cases, or standard cardboard boxes. Plastic end caps that prevent foreign material from getting inside the tubes are also available upon request.

Shipment

When requested, we can arrange for shipment and delivery to your dock, or ship your tubes to a third party and, if needed, can arrange for expedited shipments. We currently export to all over the world.

High temperature nickel based alloys

A further increase of specific alloy elements (such as chrome, molybdenum, tungsten, titanium, aluminium, niobium, etc.) improves the high temperature, high strength characteristics of austenitic steels. The disadvantage of austenitic stainless steels occurs in the fact that these elements have a reduced solubility. In order to compensate this effect and to reach the desired result, the nickel concentration can be increased. The highest alloyed types of high temperature nickel based alloys contain only a very low iron concentration.

Characteristics

  • Good resistance to corrosion in acids and alkalis and is most useful under reducing conditions.
  • Outstanding resistance to caustic alkalis up to and including the molten state.
  • In acid, alkaline and neutral salt solutions the material shows good resistance, but in oxidising salt solutions severe attack will occur.
  • Resistant to all dry gases at room temperature and in dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride may be used in temperatures up to 550C.
  • Resistance to mineral acids varies according to temperature and concentration and whether the solution is aerated or not. Corrosion resistance is better in de-aerated acid.
  • Virtually immune to inter granular attack above 315C, chlorates must be kept to a minimum.

Applications

  • Manufacture and handling of sodium hydroxide, particularly at temperature above 300C.
  • Production of viscose rayon. Manufacture of soap.
  • Analine hydrochloride production and in the chlorination of aliphatic hydrocarbons such as benzene, methane and ethane.
  • Manufacture of vinyl chloride monomer.
  • Reactors and vessels in which fluorine is generated and reacted with hydrocarbons.
